I believe every woman should own at least one tube of lipstick. Now, if you know me, you know I’m not the most glamorous girl when it comes to wearing makeup, but I love a good lipstick color. My only dilemma is as a dark skin woman, it’s hard for me to find the right color for my skin tone. I feel like black women always get told that our skin complexion is too dark or light for the colors that are presented in makeup palettes, and that absolutely drives me bonkers. Now when it’s comes down to wearing eye shadow and lipstick my personal style can get a tad bit bland… To be honest with you I don’t like wearing outlandish colors and that also applies to my hair and nails (don’t judge me). So for a year and a half, I have been on a lipstick journey to find the perfect color palette for my 430 skin tone. Doing that time I found out the best lipstick (for me) doesn’t come from a name brand makeup store, but rather from a drug or hair store. I also found out if your lipstick, not a Matte finish, then honey it’s not right. But you know what’s crazy and I’m just going to throw it out there… Sometimes I have an unexplained allergic reaction to certain types of lipstick. I know you’re probably thinking how can you love something that is dangerous to your health; girl it’s life. But nevertheless, I did find the perfect color palette for my skin tone and that would be nude and burgundy tones. Now that I have found the perfect color, it’s damn near impossible for me to leave the house without my handy dandy lipstick tube. I get so many compliments on my plum, vamp, and and brown sugar lipstick colors. Believe me, you as Wendy Williams my favorite daytime television talk show host would say.
